Lesley came to the house beforehand to meet us and the cats, which helped settle my nerves about leaving them. While we were away, we received updates and photos/videos which was really appreciated - John had even provided a puzzle feeder for them to use to keep them busy and stimulated! Then, when we came home, John had left a diary entry for each day which was great to read and the cats were happy and had clearly been well looked after. I don't really have the words for just how amazing John and Lesley are. I have a very anxious cat, who is prone to bladder stones, cystitis/water infections when left or deals with any change so I was VERY nervous about leaving. Our cat, Hubble, was visited twice a day and this ensured that he was well looked after. Wonderful humans helping me with my long haired ragdoll. They groomed her , removed the mats from her winter coat that was in a bit of a mess. Ginny doesn’t like being held but she needed it doing and was instantly relieved. So calm kind and nuturing with my cat and also me! Given great advice about fleas , grooming etc too. First time I have used "a stranger" to look after my two indoor cats. From the first moment my two boys met John they were in love. Came back to two very happy cats. Love that John left a daily report and kindly sent me pictures showing me that they were OK. Thoroughly recommend.

Can't recommend enough! When we brought home a pair of kittens our cat (Tabitha) stopped eating for days and almost entirely refused to come inside. After a couple of weeks of internet research and trying various ways to introduce the cats we went back to total separation and were seriously considering making other arrangements for the kittens. One last thing to try...We booked a behavioural consultation with Chepstow Cat Sitting, who'd already provided excellent cat sitting for Tabitha.
John visited us (Tabitha was very pleased to see him again!) and listened to everything we'd tried and how Tabitha had reacted. After the consultation John provided a staged plan, tailored to our house and the cats' personalities. We followed the plan and several weeks and nose bops later we were able to take this photo of all three happy in the same room. It has been tough but John has been very supportive. All I can say is if you are thinking of getting new fur babies to add to your brood don't make that behavioural consultation the last thing you try - make it the first!

A great service, it felt great knowing my cat was being cared for while I was away and she was a lot more relaxed and happy on my return than if I'd put her in a cattery, as this makes her anxious. I got a message through the week to let know things were okay and a photo, and came home to a lovely daily report of how she was on each visit. John kindly popped the bins out for me too! Highly recommend and will be using again in the future.

I have 4 cats and one of them lives outside so is very difficult to catch to get indoors. I used to live next door to my Mum and Dad so my cats haven’t really had much experience in a cattery. When I recently moved home I put them in a cattery for a few days and was told they didn’t do very well as they were all very nervous. I didn’t have any family or friends who lived close enough to help. So I decided to look for an alternative and found Chepstow cat sitting service. I’m so glad I did. John was amazing with all my cats. He took photos and a video and sent it to me via WhatsApp while I was abroad. He brought a special treat maze game to keep them occupied and also watered my house plants. I can’t thank him enough for putting my mind at rest, knowing my cats and my home was in safe hands. Highly recommend. My two Chinchilla Persians had their first groom last night and I was so impressed with the fantastic handling and care they took with both of them. Their focus was completely on the well being of the cats, which was the most important thing for me.

Oh my goodness!! We would normally depend on family and friends to look after our cats but due to commitments of their own we decided to book Chepstow Cat Sitting to look after them. I can't thank John enough for looking after our cats for us for 2 weeks recently. He has successfully managed to worm his way in to the affections of one of our most aloof cats, not to mention make a regular friend of one of our ex-ferals. The peace of mind and lack of stress knowing our cats were in safe hands made our holiday all the more relaxing. Anyone who knows me knows I am somewhat OCD over the care of my cats so trusting a "stranger" to take the reins was not a decision taken lightly. How we wish we had found John sooner. Our 15 yr old cat Sweep had never been left in the house on his own and we were a little concerned about how he would react to a stranger coming to feed him and administer essential medication. Our fears were completely groundless. Sweep has fallen for John in a big way and after 6 days of being pampered he is as good as he has been for years. John's attention to detail, particularly the daily notes, is exceptional and my wife and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Chepstow Cat Sitting as a positive alternative to catteries.

My cat developed a bad habit and started for no reason to wee anywhere in the house but the litter tray. I was recommended John's service by my vet.
John came and spent time discussing my cats problem and asking lots of questions. He then produced a very in depth plan to help change my cats behaviour and supported me through all the stages that were suggested.
He was always available to talk to and was patient with me as I sometimes rang 2 or 3 times a day in the first few days to make sure i was following the plan properly.
I am happy to say my cat's behaviour has been changed and I now understand my cat a lot more, thanks to John's helpand support.

Felt really at ease leaving my cats - Vera & Sirius - with John for a few days. Vera is quite a timid nervous cat, and John was very patient with her and eventually she did interact with him (which is very rare for her!). Really pleased with the service - and loved the little diary of what they’d been up to when I got home

We went to the Isle of Wight for a week, and John took care of our cat Alfie. He came twice a day, put down fresh food and water and cleaned the litter box. He kept a diary of each visit and texted me twice a week or as often as needed. He and Alfie got on very well, and we came home to a contented cat. Much less hassle than taking him to a cattery. I will definitely be using Chepstow cat sitters again and will recommend him to my friends.

I had serious behaviour issues with our 4 month old ragdoll, she was destroying our furniture and making our new home a battlefield. I cant recommend John highly enough, through Zoom calls we discussed in great detail everything about Lilly. I found John to be very patient, knowledgable and for me accessible (he was always available to chat to, update advice etc) which i found invaluable. He still contacts me periodically well after the treatment programme had finished.
The in depth report, treatment programme and support was wonderfully set out and easy to use and exceptionally good valuue for money.

Chepstow Cat Sitters are absolutely wonderful . John has looked after Boggis and Lily for several weeks and he has absolutely got the measure of both cats and their idiosyncrasies . He writes a detailed log about the cats which is very informative and amusing. Highly recommended!

John was very professional and thorough in his work helping my cat Dizzy. Dizzy kept urinating in unacceptable places, and John carefully explored all the reasons that may have caused this with in depth questioning and spending time observing Dizzy. The report and behaviour plan produced was very detailed and easy to follow. We are so pleased to say that Dizzy is a good girl and responded to John’s treatment programme, the problem was completely eradicated within 10 days.
The super care given to our boy was apparent, lovely updates and to have a written summary of the week was an added bonus! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

I contacted John & Lesley because my old long haired cat had got terrible matts in her coat, as she has gotten older she finds it difficult to groom herself.
Both John & Lesley were very sympathetic and caring in their handling of Molly and were very patient as Molly wasnt that pleased about having a haircut. They took their time with her and when she became to stressed they stopped and came back on another day.
In all it took three visits to sort Molls out and the lovely part was that the price was the same as if it had been one visit. I now have Molls booked in monthly to keep her coat in good condition and to stop it matting, she has become a lot more happier since she has had regular grooming.

John and Lesley have looked after our three cats for the last week they are professional and have a fantastic approach to looking after your pets. When you go away you always worry & want to ensure that you have left your furry children in the best possible hands and John and Leslie are the very best. We have returned today to our 3 and they are healthy and happy and two of them I’m sure were a little put out that it was us today and not John and Lesley. John and Lesley looked after our 6 cats for a marathon 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year. They were totally amazing! So very professional and caring. I had regular updates with photos while we were away and a detailed report at the end. They even took away all the rubbish and left the house clean and tidy. My cats were so happy when we got home and more relaxed than I'd ever seen them after being away. The care that John and Lesley gave my pets far exceeded my expectations. Thank you both so much! John looked after our cat for the first time over Christmas and I am really impressed with the service they provide. From the initial visit to meet our cat and learn about her routine, to the updates and photos we received on Christmas Day to let us know how she was. John was very professional, knowledgeable about animals and genuinely interested in getting to know our cat. He visited when he said he would and even looked in on our other animals for us. And when we got home, there was a lovely card, an updates sheet on each visit and a small gift too, which was a lovely thought. John and Lesley were brilliant - we only needed their service for one day, and it was Christmas Day too, but they were happy to travel out of their usual area to help us, as well as visiting us and our cat too beforehand. A lovely helpful couple who we can thoroughly recommend.

John & Lesley did a fab job looking after our cats Monica and Phoebe for 16 days. It was lovely to have a couple of reassuring photo messages while we were away and a daily written report when we returned. Compared to when they have returned from the cattery or neighbours have just been popping in to change their food the cats’ demeanour was so relaxed when we got back, waiting in the kitchen in anticipation of their daily ham rather than being nowhere to be seen. I think they are looking forward to our next holiday so we had better book one!
We have just got back from a week away. This is the first time we have had a cat sitter as opposed to using a cattery. We chose a cat sitter as my older cat does not like being transported and being uprooted. John and Lesley have been brilliant. They came to the house to see the cats and where everything is kept before we went. They took all soiled litter away with them so when we got back there were no horrible smells! They wrote a diary for each day so we could see what they and the cats had been up to. The youngest cat loved a game of chase the red dot most days! We were able to enjoy our week away and not worry about the cats. The added advantage over a cattery is one does not have to add dropping off cats and collecting them again to your list of things to do! In short, we will definitely use John and Lesley Chepstow Cat Sitting again when the occasion arises. Thank you both.

It was so comforting to be able to leave my cats at home whilst I was away knowing that they were being cared for so well, I really didn’t want to put them in a cattery! They were extremely well looked after and calm on my return, plus having daily feedback from John was an added bonus. I will definitely use again and can highly recommend Chepstow cat sitting 100%
